Today I got out to the pool with the intention of trying out a bit of front crawl.
I definitely wasn’t too comfortable with the breathing while doing my attempt at the front crawl. I totally raise my head to far out of the water when I try to take breaths. I even tried to practice by the edge of the pool, but I just wasn’t that comfortable in terms of feeling like I was getting enough air. I’ll totally need a coach to help me out with the swimming to show me proper technique.
I did about 75m of kicking with a float board and was shocked at how slow I went, and actually had to call it a day when my legs started cramping. I think the total distance including what I could do with the front crawl, breast stroke and the kicking was around 600m.
Well, I think I’ll take tomorrow off and then have the 5 km race on Sunday.
